Know About Ball Flight
The face angle of the club can affect how the
final ball flight.
One of the basic principles that is important to understand about controlling
ball flight is this: The ball will start in the direction of the swing path and
end in the direction that the clubface is angled at impact.
In other words, the target line is the direction the ball is indended to
travel. The swing path is the direction the clubhead travels during the
swing. The ball will start it's flight in the direction of the swing
path's dominate force. As the ball decelerates and the velocity drops,
the spin works against the air, altering the direction of the ball flight.
The final destination depends on the type and amount of spin acting upon the
ball by the face angle at impact.
